  Client Forum

Next month sees the return of our Client Forum - and we are really excited!

Those of you that attended last year's forum will have found the day informative, interesting and fun - we hope! The aim of the day for us is to get impartial, honest feedback from our clients about our products and service. This information is imperative to Studio 2 to allow us to grow as a company and become a better service provider to you - our clients, because that is what's important to us.

Feedback from last year has prompted many changes at Studio 2 from the smallest detail, like finding out how you like to receive updates, to major changes such as our client liaising process which changed with the employment of Chris Booth. We will also be introducing new software, new products and demonstrating the new cases system and much, much more! So you see, the forum is about making your experience with Studio 2 all the more valuable because if you don't tell us, we won't know.

The Client Forum will be held at The Holiday Inn, St.Nicholas Circle, Leicester on May 23rd. Investments for the future


Studio 2 Online are delighted to announce that we have commissioned 6 brand new, state of the art servers, housed in a multi million pound data centre in London. The dedicated Servers not only have multiple internet connections and 24/7 network and hardware support, accompanied by an industry leading SLA; they will increase our current bandwidth capabilities 10 times over.

The servers are backed up by state of the art UPS systems and a diesel generator to take into account any eventuality to ensure we experience no breaks in our service; offering an increased "up-time" and greater reliability for us and our clients. We view this upgrade as a part of our growth plan for the future and the increase in servers will allow us to take on more e-commerce projects and maintain the level of service to our existing clients as we grow. The new servers will house all existing sites which does mean that our IP addresses will change - we urge anyone who has IP pointing to contact us to allow us to supply you with the new address.

We plan to switch servers this week (30th April), so please bear with us and if you do lose your connection for a few moments this is the cause. We guarantee we will do all we can to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Along with this investment, we are due to release an anti-spam solution and a hosting and domain control system. These investments will bring our service to existing and future clients up to date with the latest technology and we hope you rejoice with us as we take this leap into the next chapter of Studio 2 Online.

kiwiEach Month Studio 2 would like to introduce you to a member of the team to promote personal contact, so that you can really get to know the people behind the work we do; and we've decided to start with everyone's favourite: Kieran Welch, better known as Kiwi. Mechelle gets up and personal.

M: What's your Favourite film?

K: The Hills Have Eyes

M: What is a passion of yours/hobbies?

K: My MK1 Renault Clio 16v Williams engined Hybrid, Enjoy allsorts of random music, obviously enjoy working with computers, fixing them and troubleshooting (keeps me off the streets..) I like fixing/working on electronic things in general..

M: Who are you inspired by?

K: Erm..? Tuff one! I don't really know what to answer that with?

M: Pet Peave?

K: Ok, where do I start. People that don't know how to operate old skool Video Recorders and DVD players. Seriously, what's so hard to work out? All you have to do is press play! Other examples are, slow internet connections, and people that listen to poor quality MP3's!

M: Songs on your MP3?

K: I don't have an MP3 player, but on my PC I have loads of dance, trance, hip hop, reggae, chill out music, etc. Do you want some examples?

M: Yes please

M: What are your aspirations?

K: To work somewhere abroad where I can spend more time outdoors, or perhaps to become a tester of new technologies? I'm always heavily interested in new gadgets, and with my full on testing ways, I think that makes a good combo.

M: If you were a superhero, who would you be?

K: Well, there's already a batman, already a robin, so I suppose that leaves Pigeon. I'd be a huge crazy pigeon, but one that saves the day of course!

  NEW SLA's and Cases system unveiled

Have you ever experienced frustration with an agency with a change or issue logged and you just don't know how it is progressing? Feedback form our last client forum found that this was the one of the most frustrating experiences with working with any outside party and to combat this Studio 2 Online has just launched a market leading "case" management system.

The case system will allow our clients to raise a case, whether that's a change, a bug, or a support question and depending which SLA (Service Level Agreement) you have with us and the severity of the issue, the case will be answered in an hour, a day, a week, a month.

Once a case has been raised an email will be received from Studio 2 detailing the date and time the case will be resolved. Should the developer or technician require any further information about the case, they will be in touch via email and request a response via email. This type of correspondence allows the account manager complete and un-abridged access to the details and progress of the case at any point. As the case is solved and completed an approval may be sought to allow the changes made to be moved from a development site to the live client's site, and once this is achieved a final e-mail will be sent notifying the client of the completion.

This is a huge step forward in the way we manage problems, questions and queries and in the not too distant future we will be releasing a web based interface that will allow clients to manage all cases and log in to see the each stage the case is in - a leap forward that we are very excited about! Full details, demonstrations and training for this new system will be provided at the May Client Forum - so don't miss out!

  SmarterStats Upgraded to Version 3.x

We have upgraded our Smarter Stats facility to allow you to benefit from the new developments of the software. Key new features include:
New Optimised Web Interface
The SmarterStats interface has been completely redesigned with a focus on usability: including customizable chart views, favourite reports, and more powerful custom reports. This means no more wandering around trying to find the report you need and a fab new static menu rather than that dreadful dropdown menu.
Enhanced Reporting
The option to receive your reports via email and on demand, these reports will be easier to understand as they will be in a format set by you, reorganised and with new filters. The option to export your reports to CSV or TAB format will allow them to be saved in excel to then import and use in reports you may at the moment be inputting by hand.
Data Mining
The ability to drill into the report items to extract data quickly and conveniently, giving you a clearer idea on what is working to help improve your productivity. Other benefits include: Multiple Language Support, Advanced Administrative Features, and much more technical stuff!

Their objective is to be the provider of choice for ambitious organisations (from owner-managed businesses to listed companies and not for profit organisations), high net worth individuals and other professionals.

Families in Focus is a new project working with schools and families in Braunstone aiming to promote and deliver family learning
